Climate reparations is our core thematic area as the African Futures Lab and we are committed to shaping impactful climate policies in Africa.
For this reason, we are proud to announce that our Climate Research and Policy Advisor, Dr. Patrick Toussaint (external link), has been appointment as a Member of the African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) (external link)Climate Change Working Group (CCWG).
As a member of the CCWG, Patrick will play a key role in advising ECOSOCC and broader AU organs on matters of climate policy, contributing to technical documents, reinforcing capacity, and supporting inclusive stakeholder consultations.
This is a chance for us, the African Futures Lab, to share our expertise and contribute to the regional policy discourse around African climate justice and reparations, in line with this year's AU theme of Justice for Africans and people of African Descent through reparations (external link).
